He brings nearly three decades of experience as a journalist, a graphic artist, a multimedia producer, a player-coach — and the one you’re glad to have in a pinch.

He’s spent the past several years at the Austin American-Statesman metro newspaper managing breaking news coverage and supervising an enterprise reporting team that has sought to call attention to the equity challenges facing Austin’s marginalized communities. Before that, he was producing interactive digital projects as a graphic artist and web designer for the Statesman. These days, he is forging a new career as Texas Weather Science Editor for Hearst Newspapers, developing content for multiple digital platforms and continuing to better inform online audiences.

And he sometimes speaks of himself in third-person prose.
